Myanmar

The main cruising area in Myanmar is the Mergui Archipelago which due to a historical accident have kept their beauty: For 50 years following Myanmar’s independencein 1947 isolaton policies kept foreigners out.  The Mergui  archipelago lies only 120 nm north of Phuket and consists of a group of 800  islands of which only 50 are inhabited. Think deserted white beaches -and thanks to Myanmar’s preventing deforestation laws- lined with majestic stands of Burmese teak , Mahogany , strangler figs and other indigenous vegetation.

Now picture eagles circling above, gibbons and monitor lizards eyeing you from the thickets, the only human footprints in sight are the ones behind you.. slowly walk back to the beach where your yacht is anchored  while a sundowner is being mixed for you on board of the yacht. Charter here between November and June.

Myanmar has heritage sights like the shimmering golden stupa of Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon and the magical temples of Bagan .
